Knitting Pure & Simple pattern #1306 by Diane Soucy uses bulky weight yarn for a hat with earflaps and ties, pompoms, tassels, ears, horns, etc. for 6 animals – sock monkey, unicorn, kitty, panda, lion, and sheep. You’ll be able to modify for just the animal hat you want for a child or an adult! The garter stitch (constructed flat, seamed) makes a stretchy fabric, so the hat fits more than two sizes. 2 pages of instructions.

Garter stitch makes this hat very stretchy. It will fit most head sizes.

Yarn: bulky weight yarn Yardage: approx. 215 yd (And unicorn horn takes about 50 yards of yarn.)

Needles: US 10 in 24” circular or 14” single point needles or whatever size gets the gauge.
