This week I picked Deco State by In The Beginning. This fabric is one that I kept looking at thinking this has to be better than it looks. Surely there is something this would look decent in!
Some fabrics just don't inspire any ideas of what to use them for, or even like them. This fabric is one that I just didn't like, but I felt if I could find something to make with it, it might be better than I thought when I looked at the bolt.
I was right!
I really didn't have any ideas when I grabbed this bolt, so I opened my giant box of patterns and started looking through them. I picked a zipper bag and went for it, praying it turned out decent. I was really surprised at how much I actually like this booklet pouch.
I also convinced Jolene to let me make her a pair of PJ pants and a pair of PJ shorts. The shorts are a million times cuter than the pants.
I was pleasantly surprised by the different things we made with this fabric this week. I didn't think the fabric was pretty, I kind of disliked it... a lot. Seeing it actually made up changed my mind a little bit. I might consider using this in some quilt blocks now that I have seen it made into something.
