Lakota Star quilts are widely presented at Pow Wows and life events.
Cutting
Piecing
Use pieces A and B and create 8 HST. Repeat with C and D and create 8 HST.
Take pieces E and F and create 4 HST.
Use your HST's containing A and C and piece G to create 4 star blocks to go into your block. See below.
Using the HST you made with piece E and pieces H we will create our center row and the middle of our top and bottom rows.
Sew each row together, then sew your rows together to finish your block.
U.S.A Map Quilt
I definitely would like to go to South Dakota and see Mount Rushmore. Although I have heard it is a pain to get to with the crowds. Have you been to Mount Rushmore?
This is another state that I for some reason had issues lining up correctly. Luckily fabric is forgiving and can be layered a little bit to get close to where it is supposed to be. Good thing I am not a perfectionist.
