Minnesota

Minnesota has strong Scandinavian influenced textile traditions in its state collections.

This one is a bit much for me, but I bet it would turn out really pretty depending on the fabrics used.

Cutting

Piecing

Place piece C between two piece A. Repeat this to make 16 of these.  Sew these to the sides of piece A. Create 8 of these sets.

Next take piece D and sew one between two of your sets. Make 4 of these.

Line up in this order piece F, G, E, G and F and sew them together in a row. Make 4 of these.

Line up in this order pieces, G, D, and C and sew them together in a row. Make 4 of these.

These two sets are the top and bottom of your previously created block. Sew one of each to the top and one of each to the bottom. Make 4 of these blocks.

Rotate your blocks to line up the four B pieces in the center of your block.

Sew them all together to complete your block.

There is something I love about the idea of Scandinavian so I kind of find Minnesota's history fascinating.
