Iowa

Iowa!

The Iowa quilt museum in Winterset, opened in 2016. It rotates historic exhibits. The town is also known to host quilt events.

I love the idea of a quilt museum and really want to to go to one some day.

This block is more HST's than I care to make. But I do think the design is really neat.

Cutting

Piecing

Using A and B create 14 HST. Repeat with C and D.

Sew together E and G pieces and F and G pieces.  Add these into your corner blocks as shown below.

Using H and I create 2 HST. Repeat with J an K and add these into your corner blocks. At this point you should have the following ready to sew up.

Sew all your corner pieces together into rows and then sew the rows together to give you corner blocks.

Add piece L to your top and bottom rows to create the middle of those rows as shown below.

For the middle row use piece L, a HST made from C and D, piece M, another HST and piece L.

Sew each row together.

Sew your completed rows together to finish your block.
