Georgia
Harriet Powers, born into slavery in Georgia, created quilts that depicted local legends, Bible stories, and astronomical events. Her works are considered among the finest examples of 19th century southern quilting.
I like this block, but I don't know that I would want to make this many HST's, I get bored too easily doing the same thing over and over.
Cutting
Piecing
Sew A and B into 4 HST's.
Sew C and D into 8 HST's.
Sew E and F into 8 HST's.
Now we will start laying our block out into sections to make putting it all together easy.
Next we will add in H, I and J to make our corner block pieces, and G into the very center of our block.
We will sew our pieces into rows that will make sewing our completed block together easy.
