Arkansas

I always think Ar - Kansas when I remember how to spell Arkansas. Anyone else?

Artist Dorris Curtis created a quilt in the shape of Arkansas, with patches representing its various counties. This piece reflects the state's rich quilting traditions.

Using pieces C and D make 12 HST.

Take 2 pieces of E, sew them to both sides of piece B.

You should have the following sewn up so far.

Add pieces A to create your corner blocks.

Add your remaining E pieces to the top rows between your corner blocks.

Sew all three rows together to create the center for your block.

Using piece F sew one to both sides of your block.

Sew G to both ends of your remaining F pieces. These will be your top and bottom for the block.

Sew your top and bottom onto your block to complete it.
